What
the
Can
Too Center Offers
Victims
& Their Children
1. Provide a safe environment at
the Can Too
Center campus allowing victims to personally rehabilitate and formulate
their
plans and options for the best course of actions for the victim's
goals. This would give the best chance of
insuring their personal future and the well-being of their
children.
2. Help the victim begin the healing
process.
The process may well be an on going struggle with
some problems
for many years. Depending on the extent, severity
and
length of time the abuse was endured. The victim
will become stronger through the understanding of how the entrapment
engulfed
them. If you realize the mistakes that were made,
you
better understand that you can avoid them in the future.
3. One of the main objectives is to
counteract and
reverse the
brainwashing endured by the victim which attributes
to the poor self esteem that they have acquired. We want to
help
the
victims see that they are wonderful people that have much to offer to
themselves, their children, families, friends and
their
community. By self esteem being instilled
and improved,
the victims start achieving their goals for their future
independence.
4. Although we want to help the victim,
the greatest
benefit could be how we can change the lives of the children
and the
parent from their abuser. This will
start breaking the epidemic of the abuse cycle.
These
children need their self
esteem
redirected and begin believing they do matter and knowing someone will
protect
them.
The laws should start protecting them and their victim
parent,
this gives
them a safe and stable environment in which to grow and develop.
By the laws protecting these children and becoming an
assistance
in their healing, a new respectful relationship should be
formed
for the
youth and law enforcement system.
5. By the children being helped at this
young age,
the predictable pitfalls may be avoided of a child being raised in a
home of domestic violent crimes. We will have taken the first
step to breaking the cycle with this generation.
6. We will analyze the skill level and
aptitude of
the
victim as well as their desired career goals. Armed with
this knowledge and desired goals the victim is ready to
acquire
the necessary education to develop their skills and abilities for the
future
independent living, of the victim and their family. Although
Can
Too Center's school and training center starts with the basics,
insuring reading, math and reasoning ability to understand and achieve
today's living and career challenges. Our process further
includes exposure to and experience by basic training of skilled
trades. Therefore better decisions can be made on a career
and to
help with coping of life's problems and challenges in today's
environment of living independent and with family harmony.
7. Also we will address the
current level of
parenting skills if the
victims have children. If there are areas that need
improvement,
assist the victims in gaining more of these skills is a primary
objective. Also children need to understand and practice
"children skills".
8. In addition to helping the victims
achieve the
education and skills that will create an opportunity for them.
We
will address any
areas that the children might require with tutoring assistance.
We will
provide the tutoring for these children that is necessary for them to
gain
the confidence and self esteem that will create happy
confident
children and
young adults. They should be proud of their own
accomplishments;
as well Can Too Center will be as proud of them as their parent is.
9. Analyze the level of ability and
promote practices to be a good steward
of their finances for independent living while at the Can Too
Center as well upon graduation into the future in
their own
home and career.
10. Develop many avenues for income
production while
the victims are learning workplace skills. Thus creating the
situation whereby the burden of Can Too Center can be assisted by
these income sources as well as the victim's accomplishes
exposing these
victims to many business operations from clerical to manufacturing.
11. Make available to victims
the opportunity to
learn higher-income labor career skills that will enable higher wage
earning potential for these victims as well as college educations if
chosen. Although today's college educations may not reap the
most
earning potential
for the victim. Can Too Center does not limit the work skills
a
victim may desire
based on whether the victims are male or female. The goal is
to
attain the type of a job they will enjoy and have the ability to
perform after
education and training for that particular field of work.
12. Strive for graduates of the Can Too
Center to be
known as employees who have exceptional traits that are desired by
employers. These traits will earn our graduates an
advantage
over competition in the work force for jobs.
13. "Create a community" where
some victims may want to
remain and be employed to further support Can Too Center in
the coming years and for them to
help new arriving victims, that we will be privileged
to continue to help.
